On the Aminabad Food Trail

About the Tour: The delicious Awadhi cuisine is a crowning jewel in Lucknow’s heritage. Enjoyed through the ages by Nawabs and commoners alike, it is a fusion of Mughal, Kashmiri and Hyderabadi cooking styles.

This tour takes you on a food journey through the famous bazaars of Aminabad. Kebabs, biryanis, chats, kulfis and lassis - the streets of Aminabad have a lot to offer to the adventurous. We will stop at roadside stalls and restaurants to sample these delights. We will visit a famous spice shop and a shop selling pickle. You can also take a peek into a wholesale vegetable market for a glimpse of the daily life and food habits of the locals.

The walk is suitable for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Please tell us your preference in advance.

Tour Notes: Please note, the food on the street is delicious but does not meet national or international hygiene standards. Although we only go to very popular places, with good local reputations, eating street food is always risky. This is a traditional area of Lucknow. Please dress modestly and ensure you have adequate sun protection.
